ABOUT CRACKED LEMONADE
Cracked Lemonade is an idea created by Dane Bard. The idea of making lemonade out of lemons even if they aren't in the best condition Dane Bard is a visual artist from Philadelphia with a BA in Fine Art. In 2007 the name Cracked Lemonade was created and used it as a YouTube name and it slowly evolved into a moniker and a concept. Dane specializes in camera operation, non-linear video editing, drawing, painting and graphic design. Paintings are inspired by the idea of giving visuals to feelings primarily through portraiture. Faces are things people see every day and often times we may use facial expression as well as other mannerisms to mask our own feelings. Often times this concept is used as a form of protection from others as sometimes an individual fears that others will not like their true self or be able to understand their true self. This can develop an internal duality that turns into a fight between perceived self and true self. Dane's paintings portray the decay caused by masking feelings in an hyperbolic manner. Dane draws his inspiration from many different areas but primarily from the vanitas and memento mori paint styles which were used to depict the transience of life.
